Candy Suite Studio is the first of its kind: a First Nations women-led creative studio based at the Queen Victoria Women's Centre, founded by award-winning artist and music producer Candice Lorrae. The studio provides a culturally safe songwriting, production and recording space for First Nations women and gender-diverse artists. Through mentoring, skills development and music business support, Candy Suite Studio helps independent artists build confidence, develop their craft and build sustainable careers.
With family connections to Jawoyn Country and the Western Torres Strait through the Kala Lagaw Ya language group, Candice honours and pays respects to the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong/Boon Wurrung Peoples of the Kulin Nation, whose lands continue to inspire creativity, community and storytelling.
